Fontenot, Mike

We are collecting all sports trading cards, memorabilia and any photographs of Mike Fontenot. He is a graduate of Salmen High School in Slidell, LA. He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 1st round (19th) of the 2001 MLB June Amateur Draft from Louisiana State University. He played in the Orioles minor leagues from 2002-2004. On February 2, 2005, he was traded by the Baltimore Orioles with Dave Crouthers (minors) and Jerry Hairston to the Chicago Cubs for Sammy Sosa and cash. From 2005-2007 he played in the Cubs minor league system and was called up to MLB for 7 games in 2005 and 87 games in 2007. From 2008-2010, he played for the Cubs at the MLB level. On August 11, 2010, he was traded by the Chicago Cubs to the San Francisco Giants for Evan Crawford (minors). He played for the Giants from 2010-2011. On April 13, 2012, he signed as a Free Agent with the Philadelphia Phillies. He played in 47 games for the Phillies from 2012. On August 5, 2012, Fontenot was released by the Philadelphia Phillies and ended his career in the Tampa Bay Rays minors in 2013 & 2014.
