We are collecting all sports trading cards, memorabilia and any photographs of Jim Asbell. He is a Tulane University alum. He started his career playing outfield in the Middle Atlantic League for the 1935 Beckley Miners. He moved up that same year playing in the Chicago Cubs minor league system. From 1936-1937, he played in the New York Giants minor leagues. He also played in the Brooklyn Dodgers minor leagues in 1937. On October 5, 1937, he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs from the New York Giants in the 1937 rule 5 draft. he played at the MLB level for the Chicago Cubs in 17 games in 1938. From 1939-1940, Asbell played in the St. Louis Cardinals minor league system including with the 1940 New Orleans Pelicans.
