We are collecting all memorabilia and any photographs of Zeke Bonura. He is a graduate of Loyola New Orleans. He started his career in the minor leagues from 1929-1931 playing First Baseman and Second Baseman for the New Orleans Pelicans. From 1932-1933, he was playing for the Dallas Steers when on August 16, 1933, he was purchased by the Chicago White Sox. From 1934-1937, he played for the White Sox when on March 18, 1938, he was traded by the Chicago White Sox to the Washington Senators for Joe Kuhel. He played for the Senators in 1938 when on December 11, 1938, he was traded by the Washington Senators to the New York Giants for Tom Baker, Jim Carlin and $20,000. He played for the Giants in 1939 when on April 26, 1940, he was purchased by the Washington Senators from the New York Giants for $20,000. He played in 1940 for the Senators until July 22, 1940, when he was purchased by the Chicago Cubs from the Washington Senators for $10,000. He played for the Cubs till February 15, 1941, when he was purchased by Minneapolis of the American Association from the Chicago Cubs. He did not play from 1942-1945 as he was serving in the military. When he returned, he played and managed in the minors from 1946-1952 for various teams including the 1946 Thibodaux Giants. He stopped playing in 1952 and managed in 1953 & 1954 for several teams.
