We are collecting all sports cards, memorabilia and any photographs of Joey Gathright. He is a graduate of Alfred Bonnabel High School in Kenner, LA. He was drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 32nd round of the 2001 amateur draft. He played in the Tampa Bay Rays minor leagues from 2002-2006. He played at the MLB level for the Rays from 2004-2006. On June 20, 2006, he was traded by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays with Fernando Cortez to the Kansas City Royals for J.P. Howell. He played from 2006-2008 with the Kansas City Royals with several visits to their AAA team – Omaha Royals. In December 2008, he signed as a Free Agent with the Chicago Cubs. He played 20 games at the MLB level for the Cubs in 2009 and was traded by the Chicago Cubs to the Baltimore Orioles for Ryan Freel on May 8, 2009. On August 29, 2009, he was purchased by the Boston Red Sox from the Baltimore Orioles. He bounced around for several years in minor league and finally made it back to MLB in 2011 for the Red Sox for several games. From 2012-2013 he played for several minor and Independent league teams.
