Pate, Joe

We are collecting all sports trading cards, memorabilia and any photographs of Joe Pate. He played college ball at Tulane University. He pitched in minor league baseball from 1911-1916, 1918-1925 for various teams. On October 9, 1925, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Athletics from Fort Worth (Texas) in the 1925 rule 5 draft. He pitched at the MLB level in 76 games for the Athletics from 1926-1927. On July 26, 1927, he was purchased by the Fort Worth Panthers from the Philadelphia Athletics. He played the rest of 1927 with Fort Worth. From 1928 to 1932 he played for various teams at various levels. Pate ended up playing for 21 years at various levels in 679 games.
